Well, here we are, another Monday morning. It seems like as soon as you are out the door and driving home on Friday evening that you are back at work again on Monday! The weekends sure go quick.
I had been planning to go cycling this morning for the first time in about 12 months but a quick thunderstorm stopped me in my tracks. I had even pumped up the tyres and cleaned the dust and cobwebs off her.
Got home from driving Monique to school and found our little staffie trying to hurdle the fence into the neighbours yard. You wouldn’t believe this dog. She could escape from Colditz! So I was out in the rain trying to coax her from between the garage and the fence and having a fair bit of trouble doing so. Once I had her it was on the chain as she always goes crazy in a thunderstorm and attempts to escape. Spent the next half hour putting more chicken wire down the backyard trying to block off her escape route but she will outsmart me again eventually. Haha.
As I type the rain has started again. It is quite steady and that has put the Kybosh on anymore outdoor activity this morning I daresay.
I’ve had a little bird in the tree outside my bedroom window for 4 days. Every few minutes he attacks the window and taps on it with his beak. He is still out there now flitting from branch to branch in the rain. I don’t know what sort he is. Perhaps a Wren of some type but I really don’t know. He is brown, yellow and grey with a line of white spots starting from the very top of his head and running down either side of his back in a symmetrical pattern. About once a day another 5 or 6 identical birds come along and flit around for a few minutes then take off again leaving their mate to his solitary vigil. I can only imagine that they are telling him that this is boring and it is more fun eating insects but he is not peturbed. He is still out there alone now. I wonder how long it will be before he gets sick of it?
Off to Mum and Dad’s now to check on the dog. They are away and the dog needs more looking after than just about any human I know. Then back home, shower and off to the Mail Centre yet again for another exciting day sorting the ever dwindling stream of mail. Ciao for now.
