I’ve been reviewing the traffic figures on my blog and it makes for interesting reading.
The last week has seen many people pop onto the page from all over the world and from many different sources. I wonder if any of them actually read what I write or just pass through having unintentionally stumbled onto my ramblings. I’m sure plenty of them suddenly realise there is nothing of note to read here and quickly move on. But who knows. Maybe some of them get a small insight into a small life tucked away at the bottom of the world.
It’s a bit scary putting yourself out there. Once you say something on the internet on a forum like this you can’t put the genie back into the bottle so I am a bit careful about what I write.
I generally try to avoid opinion and concentrate on observations but I suppose at times observation becomes opinion.
I enjoy writing this blog. I perhaps talk more about what is going on in my life and what I am thinking than I do when I am talking to people face to face.
I’ve never been a particularly social person and have always found it hard to talk to people, even those I know quite well. I’m sure there are plenty of my acquaintances out there who have thought I am a bit strange due to my inability to make small talk and preference to be on my own most of the time. So be it. I’m happy with who I am and I do like to be with people sometimes. I just like it even more when they don’t expect me to say anything!
At the moment I am finding it very hard to shake the cold I mentioned earlier in the week. Just when I think I am on top of it I start to get a runny nose again and although I’m not feeling sick I am getting a little light headed from the constant sniffling.
I’m still going to work although a week off may have been a better idea for my health but I will see it through to Friday now.
The week has been busy in other ways though. I rushed around on Monday trying to get some work done around home, mowing and the like before the weather closed in again. Tuesday was a rush to get to the doctor and yesterday I had to travel to the far reaches of Canberra, to a Flight Centre office in Belconnen to pay off our Fiji trip which we are partaking of at the end of August. My nephew is getting married over there and a big family gathering on a foreign shore is in prospect.
So today has been a bit more relaxing. The weather once again looks threatening although it hasn’t rained yet and my father called around for a short visit but I haven’t had to do anything of note which is a relief.
So I will sign off for now, hoping that all who are taking the time to read this from Australia or elsewhere are having a good day and I will do my best to make the most of it at Australia Post.
