At exactly this time tomorrow I will be on a plane about to begin it’s descent to Sydney airport, the first leg of a trip to Fiji.
I feel unusually nervous. Bit of a funny feeling in my stomach. I hate travelling, particularly flying but if you need to go overseas there really is no other way to get a destination with more speed or comfort. There is also a fairly tight turnaround in Sydney for us between our domestic flight and our international departure and these things always make me a bit skittish. I like to have plenty of time up my sleeve. If all runs to plan it should be fine.
I am going to my nephew’s wedding in Fiji. It’s not a place I would bend over backwards to visit at any other time despite it’s reputation as a holiday mecca and I wasn’t sure I really wanted to go given the circumstances but Linda was very keen so I am making the effort. All the family are going except for my Dad who is left at home guarding the fort. Don’t feel sorry for him, Fiji is the last place on earth he wants to go and a week by himself I think just may be what the doctor ordered. I think he will enjoy the solitude.
So for anyone who regularly follows this blog, I will be off the air for at least a week. For all those at AP, I will think of you as I lounge in the lagoon pool at the Sheraton resort and be thankful I am not there sharing the misery with you. Take care.
