Sunburn!
Some people are just silly, so it seems and I may just be one of them!
Went out and lay in the sun on a clear Fiji morning and got sunburned. Coming from Australia you would think I would know better than to go out without suntan lotion on but you can’t factor in stupidity. I went out again this afternoon lathered in the stuff and got burnt even worse! Maybe one needs a super strength sunscreen in these parts? Or a better type of sunscreen?! A little sore tonight.
The wedding is tomorrow. I will stay covered up and hopefully be okay.
Until next time.

Consoldiation
The event for which we ventured to Fiji has been run and won, done and dusted. The trap door has released and my nephew James has taken the drop.
It was a nice wedding. A little chapel by the sea here at the resort, local choir singing, bride arriving ten minutes early, ceremony over before it was due to begin causing the bride’s aunties to miss the whole thing!
The sun drenched chapel of glass made sitting for the service a little uncomfortable, the greenhouse effect producing rivers of sweat on my back and on others so the quick service was a relief. A simple reception at the Westin resort capped off the day.
Today is a day of consolidation. The main event is out of the way and we begin to look for other things to do to bide our time.
Linda, as I write is in the resort pool with my niece and sister in-law and I’m trying to ignore her exhortations to join them due to my sunburn still being quite visible. I would like to give it some more time to fade rather than causing more damage.
Tomorrow we have booked a trip up to the Coral Coast with a longboat ride and village tour attached. I’m looking forward to the cultural experience.
