I’m ensconced in Linda’s little office in the corner of our bedroom tapping away once again on my little notebook computer using the “livewriter” feature available to windows which will, when I complete this post, download this entry to my blog. This is because I am still not  happy with the new set-up on Blogger and I am still having trouble with paragraphs running into each other when I use it. There may be a simple explanation but the  new site is rather convoluted  and it is hard to find the answers to any questions one might have on the blog operation. Never mind. It will all come out in the wash.
It has been the bane of my life, not having the patience to read the fine print or the ability to concentrate for more than two minutes at a time when trying to untangle written instructions in order to put something together or study long enough to gain qualification for a better job. I’ve always had an understanding of the big picture but have never had the inclination to get down to the nitty gritty of any particular subject. I’m sure the answer to my Blogger problem is written on their site but I just can’t be bothered to find it!  More the fool me I guess.
But the main thrust of this post is merely to record my return to work yesterday and report that everything went well. It’s funny how ten days off can de-condition you to the work you do and I am a little tired this morning due to standing up all day yesterday.
I must say, and it is a strange thing for me to write, that I actually enjoyed my work day yesterday. I hope anyone who regularly reads my blog, the complete half dozen or so of you, haven’t choked on your coffee or weet-bix as you read this as I would hate any written record of mine to cause you discomfort but I have to say the first statement of this paragraph is true.
It was quite an easy day, being rostered on my favourite job making life much more pleasant but it also saw the return to work of a number of friends who due to holidays, both mine and theirs, has seen me bereft of their company for almost two months. It always makes work easier when you can enjoy the easy humour of comrades.
And so the day passed quite quickly and pleasantly without any problems at all and only the odd twinge of discomfort in my stitched up arm threatening to disrupt the smoothly functioning order of the shift.
I’m sure my serenity will not last forever and by the end of the week you may be tuning out yet again as my hackles rise and perceived injustice bites and once again I won’t be able to help myself and an ill-judged, ill-informed tirade will pervade these pages once more.
Until then I can only ride the whirlwind until the inevitable disruption to the pleasant atmosphere arrives, causing teeth gnashing and high blood pressure all around.
And for now, rather than wasting anymore time on the computer I will venture outside and try to figure out how to start the lawnmower without popping stitches in my arm. Rain is coming for the rest of the week and the lawn looks awful both front and back and I can only wonder what it’s appearance will be like with another five days of rain soaking it.
So, I will leave it at that for today, a tame snapshot of a day of an average life as we hurtle through the galaxy on this little rock of ours. I hope wherever you are you too are enjoying yourself and the recalcitrant’s and sociopaths who seem to find a way to disrupt our lives find others who are more deserving of their wicked intentions than you.
Have a nice day.
