A Short Note from a Gap in Time

Some of you who regularly read this weblog, especially those who acquire entry to the site from Facebook, may have wondered where I have been over the last few days given my prolific output here this month.

We have had tradesmen in and out all week as our bathroom is being renovated and I have either been seeking shelter from the storm at my parents place or wandering around whilst they are here pretending that I do more than just sit on the computer all morning before I go to work.

With all the trouble having well-to-do invaders in my house causes with the break of routine I just haven’t had the necessary inspiration to write and the only time I have had some spark of creativity has been at work when snowed under. Being absent from the work-floor for three-quarters of an hour as I knock up another entry for copy on my Blog certainly wouldn’t go down well with those in power. All the more so as there has been some unpleasantness lately with staff being stirred up by the actions of certain individuals so I better stay on the straight and narrow and tend to my duties as they are laid down. No slacking!

So, as my tiler has left for the time being and I am here alone I thought I would check in and make a short entry and post a “photo of the day” which some may enjoy viewing.

The shot is rather special as it is the author pictured with his father and brother and it was taken almost a year ago on a Lake Burley Griffin cruise where we were celebrating my sister’s 50th birthday.

My father is a bit of dinosaur when it comes to technology although he can answer his mobile phone when it rings and make calls which is impressive for a man as bereft of interest in technology as he but I am not sure he has ever touched a computer in his life although he does seem to peer over my shoulder a hell of lot when I visit and peruse the web on my mother’s computer.

There is little danger he will even know he has had his image entered on the Blogosphere let alone raise an indictment against it’s presence!

As for the “nude nut” in the photo, I am sure my brother won’t mind appearing on my site and showing off his charisma  and photogenic features to any who may be interested.

Just a reminder to any who are interested that I have entered this Blog in the Australian Writer’s Centre “Best Blogs of 2014” competition and while I don’t hold out any great expectation of receiving a prize, particularly as I think I any have entered the wrong category, there is a “People’s Choice” section where the general public can vote and if anyone would like to do so in support of this Blog then I would be honoured.

Don’t panic, voting for that part of the competition doesn’t open for a couple of weeks and you can be assured I will remind you when the polls open and provide a correct link for you to do so.

For now I will sign off from this “gap in time” which I have found in this busy working week and let you go back to doing something more productive than reading this strange notation from a labourious life.

 Have fun and take care.
