A Little Worn and Lived In

Hello. It’s that time of year again. Christmas is almost upon us and another year is about to end far too quickly. The scourge of coronavirus still harangues the globe and plenty of people will no doubt be glad to see the back of 2021 and get stuck into a better 2022. Hopefully.

I am at home. Usually at this time of a Monday morning I am scaling stairwells in a secure car park in Narrabundah, cleaning the common areas, mopping vacuuming and trying to get some sort of semblance of orderliness about the place. It can be quite hard as it is a pretty worn and lived in apartment block but I think we do okay. But today I am resting and hoping for a gentle, quiet slide into the Christmas holidays.

As I noted in my last post I had had a slight physical problem which I needed to see a doctor about. After some investigation it was found that I had a polyp on my bladder and as it was approaching Christmas it was not something the surgeon wanted me sitting on until next year. So, on Friday, for the first time in my life I faced some quite invasive surgery.

I was in overnight and out the next day and got through without too much drama but it turned out the polyp was in fact a tumour. The surgeon thinks it is probably low grade which shouldn’t cause me too much grief but of course it will be tested in case it is more sinister than that.

So, I am at home recovering, a little bit of soreness in the undercarriage the only lingering effect from my experience. I will have to take it easy for a couple of weeks so I am off work until the New Year which is something I can certainly handle.

I suppose the experience tells me that you can’t take your health for granted. I have never smoked or drank alcohol and lived a physically clean and active life but one can still be troubled by these things despite all that. I acted as soon as I had some sign of trouble and I will be fine but that in itself is a lesson. If you aren’t feeling well get yourself checked out!

I will lay back and enjoy the week and I hope to be feeling as good as new by Christmas day, or at least as new as the stairwells I mentioned at the start of my post after I have cleaned them. I’m a bit worn and lived in myself nowdays.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and I will be back in 2022.
